The latest in the Spondon Archive series of local history books is now on sale around the village and its author will be at a launch event at Spondon Library this coming Saturday morning (23rd July.
The book looks at the fascinating story of Spondonian Anne Topham, who lived most of her life in Spondon but, for a period between 1902 and 1909, was English Governess to Princess Victoria Louise, daughter of Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany. Find out more about the title here.
Author Anita Hayes will be at Spondon Library on Saturday morning (23rd July). You can meet Anita between 10am and noon, chat to her about the book project and get a copy signed by her. All the other books form the Spondon Archive series will also be on sale at the event.
