Spondon noise mystery solved

Spondon residents puzzled by recent banging noises being heard across the area have finally had the mystery solved.

The noise is coming from pile driving work being carried out at the construction site of the new Heineken Distribution Centre, being built on the new Derby Commercial Park at the side of Raynesway, next to the Blue Jay pub. The work is expected to continue until the end of October.

Following concerns about the noise travelling across a wide area, particularly early in the morning, the developers have been instructed to ensure that the noise is restricted to between 7.30am and 6pm. Any future planning applications will also have this as a condition.
