The Friends of Spondon Cemetery have set a new date for a litter pick and general tidy at the Stoney Lane cemetery for 10.30am on Tuesday 14th October. All volunteer helpers would be very welcome.
The tidy up will be preceded by the group's latest meeting, which will include discussions on:
• Demolition of the old toilet block
• Location of a new water supply near memorial garden
• New litter bins
• Planting of perennials and other bulbs
• Location of donated bird table
The group, set up earlier this year, aims to look after the cemetery as well at looking for new ways to further improve the area.
The date of the next group meeting after that will be 11am on Wednesday 9th January 2015 at Spondon Village Club. All residents wishing to join as new members or to offer help to the group would be most welcome and very much appreciated.
