Celanese demolition captured on time-lapse video

The demolition work completed so far at the Celanese plant in Spondon has been captured in a new time-lapse video released by the demolition company carrying out the work.

The video shows the work from September 2014 to January 2015. The demolition work began last summer after two years of decommissioning at the plant. The first phase of the demolition encompasses the acetate tow production units.

The video appears on the website - www.celanesespondon.co.uk - along with an update stating that "To date, approximately half of the filter tow units has been demolished with no safety or environmental incidents and no disruptions to the public or the Clarifoil unit which is in production."
