Protect your property against burglary

Spondon has seen a slight rise in the number of daytime house burglaries and night time shed and garage burglaries.

To tackle this, your safer neighbourhood team have increased patrols with both plain clothes and uniformed officers out and about in the area.

To keep your property secure please consider the following:

· Make sure all windows and doors are locked before going out or going to bed.

· Don’t keep house keys and windows keys close to the doors and windows but keep them in a safe place should you need to get out quickly.

· Keep doors locked even if you are at home

· Keep valuables out of sight

· Use your house alarm if you have one and considering installing CCTV.

For shed and garage security:

· Use outdoor lights, a shed alarm and/or CCTV

· Use good quality locks on all sheds & garages.

· Secure items in the shed, such as lawnmowers, pedal cycles and tools

· Get all property security marked. (see below)

· Keep all side entrances locked to stop access.

Spondon SNT will mark property free of charge. To arrange, call 101 and ask to speak with a member of the  Spondon team.
