The anti-dog fouling campaign is due to start again in the New Year and Spondon Neighbourhood Board need your help!
Many of you will agree that the inconsiderate few who do not pick up after their dogs can turn taking a stroll down the street or in other public places into very unpleasant experiences.
Perhaps these irresponsible dog walkers should see if they like cleaning the wheels of wheelchairs, prams, buggies, motorised scooters and children’s bikes and then shoes and poo-engrained carpets. We’re sure they would be cursing if this happened to them.
Apart from the stench and mess, it can carry disease. The campaign is aimed at targeting irresponsible dog walkers and advising residents how to report dog fouling and what information to provide. If people fail to pick dog mess up immediately they are committing an offence and may receive a £50 fixed penalty notice or up to £1000 fine if convicted in court.
With your help we can target Hotspot areas and make Spondon a safer and cleaner place to live.
Please contact your Neighbourhood Officer Sonia Hardy if you feel this is a problem in your area or provide as much information as possible if you witness someone not picking up after their dog on 01332 643061 or by email [email protected]
