A fundraising raffle is being run to raise money for the Spondon Rams, a kids football team in India.
The team is based at the Don Bosco Mobile School where they study and was created after Spondon resident Neil Bennett collected Derby County shirts along with school equipment last year to donate to the school. After visiting the school with the donations, the team was formed and named after Neil's home of Spondon. (More details here)
Money for the school equipment was raised via collections throughout Spondon and Neil is now hoping to raise more funds for the school via the new raffle.
There are a variety of prizes on offer in the raffle as you can see from the poster on the right. Tickets are £1 each and available from a variety of locations around Spondon including The Prince of Wales and Vernon Arms pubs plus local shops D-Label, Green Olive Cafe and Romac Motor Factors.
The raffle draw will take place at the Prince of Wales on February 26th with the winning tickets being drawn by Spondon sports star Donna Kellogg.
