Boys' church club reunion set for February

A planned reunion of former members of the Spondon Church Boys' Club will take place in February 2013.

The event will take place at the Malt Shovel in Spondon on Monday, February 4, from 7.30pm.

Organiser Stephen Beet is hoping to bring together more than 50 former members of the Church Boys' Club, which was founded and ran by popular long-standing vicar of Spondon, Reverend T.E.M. Barber, for over 4 decades.

The timing of the reunion in 2013 will mark the 25th anniversary of the death of Rev Barber in 1988, and also what was also effectively the end of the club.

Any former club members interested in joining the reunion should e-mail Stephen at [email protected] or telephone Roy Battelle on 01332 722858.

More information and memories from the Boy's Club can be found at Stephen's website dedicated to it - http://www.reverendtembarber.webs.com/
