Spondon's Social Safari, held last month, was another great success with fine weather encouraging lots of residents to take part and explore the safari. Plus over £2000 being raised for good causes.
Attractions on the Safari included cream teas, a bonsai display, bowling with Spondon Bowls Club, a recording studio tour plus lots of other displays and exhibitions plus several residents showing off their gardens. Collectively, over £1,600 was raised for various individual charities with an additional £668 donated to the Village Improvement Committee for their work around Spondon.
Safari organiser Roy Battelle thanked all the Safari travellers who dug deep in their pockets also those who volunteered to be a 'Safari Stop' along the route and making the Social experience not only profitable but, once again, a great success.
